When: April 2, 4, 9, 11 with a final Session on Tues. May 14
(Tuesdays & Thursdays)
Time: 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm
Total of 15 Hours
Even in this challenging time in our community, CLC students are dedicated to improving their literacy skills. We need you as volunteer tutors to help them! When individuals the world over learn how to read, write, do basic math and use computers, they are more likely to lift themselves out of poverty, contribute to lower health care costs, and find and keep sustainable employment. Craven Literacy Council is offering a workshop to train volunteer tutors to work with adults who need help with basic literacy skills or who want to learn to speak and understand English. The 15-hour workshop will provide participants with teaching techniques and materials that will prepare them to tutor with the council. The first part of the April 2nd session will be an orientation about Craven Literacy Council and what is expected of our tutors. If you have ever thought about becoming a tutor, but are unsure if this is for you, please consider coming on April 2nd to learn about tutoring and ask questions. Space is limited!
