    DOCK HAND RESPONSIBILITIES 

     
     Must posess a strong knowledge of boats and how they operate and a solid understanding of carpentry and knowledge of marina docks and how to replace wood docking.  
     
    Þ Furthermore, this position will require a high level of professionalism and courtesy when working around and interacting with marina guests.
    Candidate must be able to assist will all incoming and departing vessels in a safe and professional manner, use and carry a VHF radio set on ch.16 and use working ch.68 to  communicate with approaching vessels and marina office. Direct vessels to assigned slip locations and make owners aware of which side of the vessel to prepare with fenders and lines before docking.
    Þ The work will begin each day by cleaning the shower/laundry facilities and laundering the bath mats.  Properly clean and sanitize shower floors and bathrooms at the end of the day.
    Þ Garbage cans at the head of each dock must be emptied daily and litter placed in garbage cans, along with empting blue recycling cans and returning those to the respective dock.

    A large portion of the dock hand’s responsibilities is to be able to process incoming reservations,  enter and process payments.  Efficient using computer and all MS operating platforms.  Additionally, take care of any dock maintenance issues that need repair and/or replacing.

    Þ Must be able to run and maintain the pump-out station and check oil levels. Make sure that the holding tank and hose are discharged after every cycle.  Secure hose and key and record all boats in the pump-out log. Training will be provided. 
    Þ Insure that all boats will not impact the main docks and check fender positioning.
    Þ Use electric pump to bail out boats after extremely heavy rainfall.

    Hours:  30 hours a week.  Flexible work schedule.
    Competitive hourly rate
    Will be required to work overtime, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
